Wireless Connection Problems in SanCarlo

Windows wireless zero config problem

WindowsXP has a problem that will be addressed with Service Pack2 when it comes out. Every so often Windows "Wireless Zero Config" will stop the flow of data and rescan for a better network, resulting in frequent disconnects. Here is a quick work around that you can use until then.If you have a third party wireless utility, you can turn off "Wireless Zero Config" and use the cards' utility (that came on the CD with your card) to configure your connection. Right after starting up your computer and your utlity is able to see our network (velocityonline.net), go to "Start" then "Run" and type in "services.msc" without the quotes. Click on the wireless zero config and stop the service. Then set the startup type to Disable. You can now use your cards utiity to connect to us without being disconnected.
If you do not have a third party wireless utility, you can still prevent disconnects by stopping the service after you are able to see our network (but before connecting) by going to "Start" then "Run" & typing in "sc.exe stop wzcsvc" without the quotes.
